- WHEELER,
GUNTER - Trying to find any info on Buchanan GUNTER. Buck as he
was known was born about 1857 in Tippah County, Miss. As a young
man he thought that he killed a man in Miss. He took his mother's
maiden name, WHEELER, and fled to Texas. The man that he thought
he had killed, did not die but Buchanan (Buck) Gunter (Wheeler)
never returned to Miss. No other info is known. Any info would be
greatly appreciated. His parents were Melitus Stapleton GUNTER and
Nancy Jane WHEELER.

for additional information about my GGF John Richard MCCANDLESS
b. abt 1870 d. 12/1941. Buried in Lytton Springs Cemetary, Caldwell
Co. Texas. He married Mary Ida PERRY and they produced Ethel, Eula,
Silas and Lloyd MCCANDLESS. John Richard was a blacksmith and had
a blacksmith shop next to the Masonic Lodge in Lytton Springs. His
mother moved to Texas as a widow and married a man named DANCER.
They had another son named Tom Dancer who lived in Austin. John
Richard had a brother named Lee MCCANDLESS who was the father of
Maurice, Linden, Clarence and Winnie

for members of the EBERSOLD family. Several young members of the
family died of malaria around 1910 and are probably buried in the
Ganado Cemetery. La Roy, Etto, and Dell are the childrens names.
Their father Edward died shortly after. Does anyone know a contact

info on the STONE family. Thomas STONE m. Elizabeth DAVIS or ROSS.
Kids included Sam, Molly, Ruth, John and others. Ruth STONE married
William Houston KILPATRICK abt 1895. Family legend says she is buried
in Mills Cemetery beside her brother Sam STONE. Another family legend
says Mills and Davis's kin. Miller, Fletch and Biffle Davis were
outlaws and Miller was said to have smoked cigars and sat on a casket.
He was hung. Can anyone help me with any of these families. Thanks

They came from MO after the Civil War and settled in Denton County
about 1870. Montreville married Frances Burkhead in AR and Levastin
was married twice. First wife Sarah TURNER D1865 then he married
Mary HOWARD in AR before entering Denton County about 1870. Will
share information with any decendant. I am from Montreville Willis
line.

- I am trying
to find out where my ggg grandmother Narcissa WATSON FOREHAND is
buried. She was born in South Carolina, married Martin FOREHAND
of NC, they lived in Davidson Co., Tennessee, moved to Marshall,
Harrison Co., TX in 1848. I found Martin FOREHAND in Bastrop, TX
in 1853 married to a Mrs. Pheby PATAN. Did Narcissa die in Marshall
or Bastrop or did Martin divorce her and she went back to Tenness?
Her sons Richard N., Thomas D., Martin P., William Dempsey and 2
daughters all ended up in either Austin, Georgetown, Bastrop area
in 1860 census.

find my GGGF. My GGF was John Richard MCCANDLESS who came to Texas
with his brother Lee and a possible sister with their mother (name
unknown). She was a widow, she remarried a man named DANCER, they
had a son Tom DANCER. Lee lived around Travis Co. (Austin, TX) as
did his children, Maurice, Clarence and Linden. John Richard lived
in Caldwell Co. (Lytton Springs) and married Mary Ida PERRY. John
Richard was born abt 1870 in either OK, KS or MO. J.R.'s children
were Silas A., Ethel, Eula and Lloyd. I am looking for MCCANDLESS
men that died after 1870 whos widows are not directly accounted
for. If you have knowledge of any male that died in the right timeframe,
please contact me, I will do the research to rule them out.

James Wills (Bob) Buried near Turkey, Texas I am in search of where
Bob Wills Great Grand Father is burried. Name: Saladan Harris Wills
Born in: TN Year Born: 1824 Died: Nov. 3, 1881 All the books and
research I have done says he is buried near Teague, Texas; but doesn't
list a cementary. Freestone and Limestone County has no listing
for his grave site. I am inquiring in Hall County because Bob Wills'
family moved to Turkey and his museum is in Turkey! Any insite on
this inquiry would be appreciated or any direction you can give.

- Who was my grandfather? The story is that a pregnant woman came
to Rayne, LA "from the west" on a train. She was travelling alone.
Gave birth to my grandfather; his name was Frank George SIEARS (pronounced
SEARS). Within two years, she had died and he was orphaned. Did
she come from Texas?? Is there a SIEARS family in Texas that knows
this story? Grandfather born 23Dec 1890.

- Searching
for information on Dennis Trigg WILLCOX. Date of birth is unknown,
but family history says he was born in Fairview, AR. A Census taken
while he lived in Bonham verifies that he was born in Arkansas,
but the only other things know about him are that he Married Nancy
"Nannie" ROBINSON on 01-Sep-1881, place unknown, and they had four
children, born from 1893 through 1899. He died in Bonham, Fannin
County, TX on 06-Feb-1901 and is buried in Section F in the Willow
Wild cemetery in Bonham. Have been unable to find any record of
him anywhere in Arkansas and, in fact, have been up against a solid
brick wall on finding anything about when he was born, more exactly
where he was born or anything at all about his parents and any possible
siblings. Dennnis and Nannie were my grandparents. I have information
on the Robinson line back to the 1500's in England, but have struck
out on Dennis. Can anybody in or around Bonham help me find someting
about Dennis? Is there a newspaper or library in Bonham or Fannin
County that might have his obituary? Will be most appreciative of

WATKINS was born in Dandridge, TN on 2 September 1868. His father
Elvin Ewing WATKINS died in 1881 and his mother took the family
to Wise County, TX near Decatur to Join her brother Alexander William
SCRUGGS. Charles left Decatur and moved to Quanah in 1905 and in
partnership with J. J. Perkins he opened a dry goods store. Would
like to correspond with any desendants.

William Levin AINSWORTH died in Eastland CO 1918. He was married
to Mary Ann HOUSE, died in 1930. There was a Larkin AINSWORTH in
Eastland Co at the same time as my ancestor. I believe there is
a connection. Larkin is buried at the cemetery which is only accessible
by boat, Providence, I think. I would like to connect with descendants
of Larkin to vaildate my theory. .

Joy Daniels, I am researching my ancestors. Family name is WILLIFORD.
My GGrandfather was David T. WILLIFORD. He was married to Emmeline
LOOKINGBILL.They were married in Gonzales, Tx on May 22, 1883. David
was born in Ark. February 15, 1862 and Emmeline was born in Texas
1868. They had four children that I know about. Jess born in 1884,
Bertha born 1886, and Reta born 1897. Emmeline died in child birth
in 1905 the childs name was Grace. Grace was my Grandmother. I am
looking for any brothers or sisters to David T. I know he had 1
one brother Lee Louis who also was married to a LOOKINGBILL. One
sister who was married to William DEAX her name was Martha or Mattie.

b. 2 Dec. 1802 m. Mary MORRIS in Marengo Co. Ala 18 May 1831. Henry
d. 5 Sept. 1840 in Marengo Co. and Mary later m. Dr. Robert Burns.
2 Nov. 1842. Soon after the family moved to Shelby Co. Tx. where
Mary`s father, Elijah Morris had a large family and lots of land.
Dr. Burns was killed 13 Nov 1855, He had been tried and aquitted
in La. for the murder of Watt Moorman, and it is thought that his
death resulted from this . (all a result of the earlier Regulator
Moderator War). The Smith children were: Jacob b. 1833 m. Ellen
(JOHNSON)? Nancy Ann b. 1834 m. B.F. POWELL Noah b. 1836 m. Des
HENRY Henry, Jr. b. 1839 m. Monemia Clemtina BLANKENSHIP. Mary Morris
had one child that survived by Dr. Burns: Dr. Wm Robert Burns b.
1843 m. Nannie Olivia HARDY I am seeking any descendents of these
Smith, Powell children. Have information to share.

Jordan A Miller born NC July 17th 1839. One of his son's was James
Martin Miller born Oct 25th 1861, he married Lida Bell Milling.
Other children were, Wilson Miller, Thomas J Miller, Henry Miller,
Julia Miller Virginia Miller married a Sherman McCallum. I am most
interseted in James Martin Miller. He was a school teacher and has
a street named after him, just outside of Dallas Texas. " Jim Miller

YOU at the Clayton Genealogy Library here in Houston, TX IN EXCHANGE
for research done for ME in other libraries. I CANNOT research documents
in the courthouse, only library material. The Clayton Library has
an on-line catalog which can be reached through the USGenWeb page
under "Texas Research Helps" "Texas Libraries On-Line". I am a stay
at home Mama with more time than money for my own research and I
hope that there are others out there in the same situation. I visit
the Clayton at least twice a month. I am interested in research
in the following states: VA, WV, OH, NC, KY, TN, IN, IL, WI, IA.

on William J. BLACKBURN who migrated from Tenn. to Lamar county
abt. 1856. He and wife Martha Smallman had 5 children there, Robert
1865, John 1866, Joseph 1868, and Daniel 1874, one daughter Laura
1863. Martha SMALLMAN was the older sister of James M. SMALLMAN
who died in Lamar co. Jan. 10, 1914 and was buried in the Blossom
cemetery . William J. BLACKBURN moved his family to Denton co. Tex.in
the late 1870's, and lived in the Roanoke area until his death in
1904. The family was closely associated to the Benjamen OWEN , and

for information on my ggrandmother Lula FAULKNER STONE. She divorced
my ggrandfather in Collin Co. in 1901 & remarried a man named J.B.
STONE on the same day the divorced was granted. Her children and
her ex-husband James Elisha SCOTT was living in Hopkins Co., James
Elisha SCOTT then married Clissie Etta RUSHING. Lula, as part of
the divorced decree, took back her maiden name FAULKNER before she
married J.B.STONE. I believe Lula was in the Hopkins Co. area for
a time to stay close to her children. The children lost touch with
their mother. Any info on her life with J.B. STONE would be greatly
appreciated. .

am researching Noah LILLEY b. 19 April 1771 in NC/SC d. abt 1847
in Upsher Co. ( now Camp Co., ) Texas. He married Mary CURRY BARNETT
b. 27 July 1785 in NC. d. Unk...On 15 Dec. 1798 in Sumner Co. he
was commissioned a Lieutenant in the TN Militia. On 15 May 1901
in Smith Co., he was commissioned a Lieutenant in the TN Militia.
He lived in Sumner, Smith, Rutherford, and Hardin Co.'s in TN before
moving to Texas in about 1837. In 1839 he was found in Red River
Co., Republic of Texas. On 7 Feb 1842, Certificate No. 23 issued
to Noah Lilley by the Land Courts of Paschall County, Texas, 640
Acres. This land was on the Cherokee Trace and the head rights on
North, Middle, and South Lilley's Creeks. Paschall Co. Was not properly
organized and only existed a few years. In 1846 it became Upsher
Co. And in 1847 it became Camp Co. The children of Noah and Mary:

for information about John KEITH, born Oct 15, 1817, in Kentucky.
He married Rachel RHOADES, born January 5, 1828 in Indiana, daughter
of Louis & Diana RHOADES. They married March 26, 1846 in Petersburg,
Indiana. They had 10 children: Penine, Sara, Levi, Eliza, Lucinda,
Jasper, Perry Franklin (my grandfather, Charlotte, Alvin & Celine.
They migrated to Franklin or Hopkins Co., Texas. John died in Oct
1889 and was buried in Woodland Cem., Franklin Co., Teas. Perry
married Masoura Jane (Susie) COE. The whole family spent the balance
of their life in and around Clarksville & Bogota, Red River Co.,
Hopkins County and Franklin. John KEITH may have had a brother named
