- I would appreciate
information on Ira PARKER, b. in N.C.Ira was a tutor. He died in
Galveston, TX in 1843. His widow, Ann,and young children returned
to Baltimore City, MD, after his death. It is possible that they
were married in MD. Ann applied for his land grant from Baltimore
in Nov. 1874.This was awarded in San Augustine, Co.Tx.

John Carson KIDD. He located in the Houston area with his father,
George W. KIDD,about 1868. His mother was Mary Jane CARSON. I believe
my branch of the KIDDs is related to this family. My ancestor,John
KIDD was from PA and went to North and south Carolina. Thanks for

Search - Looking for Lineage of Walter COLLINS and Virginia WYSNER
COLLINS. Had 17 children in Harrison Co, Texas. Found a name Major
WYSNER and Giles WYSNER cannot place them, possibly brother and
father of Virginia. They were sharecroppers in Harrison Co. Children
were Alice COLLINS born 18 Feb 1893, Dennis, Walter, Bessie, Twin
Boy, Alex, Mary, Everlean, Isana, Robert, Clemmie, Johnny, Clarens,

in the HOOVER families that were in Parker County during the Civil
War. Some left and went to Kansas due to their Union sympathies.
Some returned to Texas after the war.

John and PENDLETON, John Craig. In the 1860s, Craig Pendleton, along
with his father, Rev. John PENDLETON moved to Farmersville, Texas,
from Virginia. I am interested in findingout more about this family.
My ancestor, Ivy PENDLETON, was the brother of Craig PENDLETON.Members
of that family still lived in the same area in1910 when relatives
visited them there. Any help would be greatlyappreciated.

for information on the marriage of John Madison WHITWORTH [b. March
6, 1875 MS] and Katrina KOOP (pos. listed as Katherine or Katy)[b.
March 17, 1875 KS]. Family stories have them married on October
10,1895 in Bell County, Texas - but was told they were unable to
locate it there. John Madison WHITWORTH's parents names were Richard
Perry WHITWORTH and Julia (PALMER) WHITWORTH. Katrina KOOP's parents
nameswere Abraham KOOP and Cornelia KLIPPENSTEIN. Any information

TN] and Tilitha Ann SEITZ [b. abt 1835 TN]. Their children: George
Thomas, b. 1857; Franklin Monroe and John Andrew (twins), b.1861;
Jefferson Davis, b. 1863; Dora Eva, b. 1865; James Oscar, b.1868;
Arthur Eli, b. 1872; Marguerite Elizabeth, b. 1873; Martha Kate,
b. 1876; & Walter T, b. 1878 - all in Ellis County. John O. SMITH's
parents were Thomas SMITH and Margrath? (?) SMITH - both born in
NC, children born in TN, & came to Ellis Co., Texas in abt.1844
from TN. Tilitha Ann SEITZ's parents were George SEITZ and Elizabeth
(?) SEITZ - both born in NC, children born in TN, & came to Henderson
Co., TX abt 1844/5, then on to Kaufman Co. before the 1860 census.
Any information about any of these families would be appreciated.

my husband ancestor William Elmer EMERY, know that we was in Claude,
Texas in 1912-1913. Wife's name was Hattie Jane. They had 2 children
(Clarence & Mona). She returned to Arkansas in 1917 with the children,
but not William. Wanting to know if possible William died in Texas.

- My great,
great grandmother, Jane Hays DREW married 3 times. Her second husband
was a REED. Three children were born to this marriage: James Maxwell
REED, Sarah Ann Laura REED, and Shadrach Lafayette REED. Shadrach
was the only one to live to produce children. He settled in Brazos
County after marrying Narcissus THOMPSON in 1847. Children were:
Sara Jane THOMAS, Susan Laura CHRISTIAN, Samuel Heath REED, Benjamin
Lucien REED, G. James L. REED, Thompson Flournoy REED, Clara Ann
REED, Paley Andrew REED, Ada Almedia BASS, and David Theophaley
REED. Is anyone researching this family? Am most interested in finding
out whothe father of Shadrach (Shadric) Lafayette REED (1825-1897).

William A. WALKER born June 14, 1887 in Mineral Wells, Parker Co.,
TX. Parents were Lee WALKER and Louisa Ann CLARK. Lee born in MO.
Louisa born in KY. William had nine siblings. He married Dora FARRAR
in Pittsburg Co.,OK,1909, had ten children and moved family to TX
sometime after 1931. Living in Lyford, Willacy Co.,TX at time of

His first marriage was to V.D. (?). What is her full name? She was
born 1/25/1847 and died 1/17/1891. John's second marriage was to
Lura BUTTS; b 9/3/1861, died 4/4/1952. All are buried at the Concord
Cemetery, Leon Co, TX. Looking for marriage dates and children of
first marriage. There were no children produced from second marriage.

of Stephen SNELL - Dr. & farmer (b.abt 1800 in NC; d,aft 1877) and
Emily Ann YARBROUGH (b. 1812, Franklin Co, NC; d. Lamar County,
Texas . This couple were married in 1828 at Henderson Co, Tenn and
had 8 children, including LD SNELL Christopher Columbus SNELL. The
family moved to Texas before 1850 as they showed up on the 1850
census in Red River County. By 1880 they were in Lamar county because
of new county line draw. LD SNELL served in the Texas Confederate
Cavalry and married Mary Anne BURKS.

for the maiden name of Seney McCULLOUGH. Married to Benjamin McCULLOUGH,
both b. in Ms. She is buried in Red Cemetery, Wortham, Tx. Her tombstone
reads: Seney MCCULLOUGH b. 3-25-1849 in Scoot Cty, Ms (I assume
they mean Scott), d. 12-20-1891.The family lived in Freestone Cty
until 1890, they then moved to Collidge, in the adjoining cty of
Limestone. She was probably in Limestone at the time of her death.

for some connection to the Sorters name,some different spellings

lived in New York ,New Jersey ,Kentucky in the early to mid 1800;s.
After that they drifted towards Missouri,Okahoma and settled in
Texas. These are the ones that I can not find anything on. First
names were: William Clark, Virgil Cleveland, Mary Elizabeth and
Martha Angeline LATHAM. William Clark SORTER married: Martha Angeline
LATHAM.Virgil Cleveland SORTER married: Gladys Elizabeth IRWIN Also

a Baptist preacher on the 1850 Shelby County Census and was also
the first judge in Shelby County. His son, Charles TURNER married
Amanda Levicia ADAMS of Louisiana. Her mother, Caroline Matilda
ADAMS (nee NORRID) was the widow of Lemuel Clayton ADAMS, married
Capt. E. M. DAGGETT. I am looking for any information on Robert
TURNER. I understand he owned a plantation in Shelby County. His
son Charles' daughter, Josephine Harvelia TURNER was born in Teneha.
Robert was bornin 1793 and died in Buena Vista, Shelby County in
1867. I have been accepted into the Daughters of the Republic of
Texas under his sonCharles, and wish to place a supplemental application
under Robert and would appreciate any information you may have.Thank
